FSSA Direct Service Workforce Investment Grant

Better Living Home Health Care has not been able to reward our employees with the raises they deserve for a couple years now. We have not had a raise in our reimbursement rates since 2021. And the increase in the cost of supplies have been substantial.

This is why we are very pleased to announce that FSSA is issuing Better Living Home Health Care funding to support our direct service workforce. We received a total of $91,700.49. The funding will be coming in three equal rounds of $30,566.83. We plan to use the 1st round of funding in the following 2 ways to invest in our DSWs:

  1. One time bonuses: To provide immediate support to our workforce, we plan to issue bonuses to DSWs. We will dedicate 79% of the grant amount towards this activity. We will issue the bonus on February 10, 2023. Employees can expect to receive the funding through their direct deposit on file.
  2. Hourly Wage Increase: As a part of our long term strategy, we will be increasing hourly wages. We will dedicate 16% of the grant amount towards this activity. The hourly wage increase will be issued
based on hours worked per week, performance, and years with the company.

Timing wise, our goal is to use the funding as soon as possible so that we can provide immediate funding to support our workforce. We are aiming to spend all funding by June 30, 2023. Please reach out to the Finance Department with any question regarding how the funds will be spent.
